Bergland Scale
Radiographic outcome of secondary alveolar bone grafting, graded by the height of the interdental septum across the cleft.
Method
The interdental septum height is assessed on an occlusal or periapical radiograph after the canine has erupted through the grafted area, compared with the normal height on the non-cleft side. Types I and II are generally considered successful grafts.
